Hello!
I'm Luana, a New York City based actor, singer. and strong mover (wooo!!) born and raised in Santa Barbara, California by my amazing Brazilian musician parents. Shout out to Teka and Paris!! (check out my mom's website here to hear their bomb music)
In May of 2019 I graduated from the New Studio on Broadway at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, where I received my BFA in Drama, a minor in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Studies, and was awarded Outstanding Achievement in Studio by the Department of Drama.
In my time at Tisch I performed as Poncia in Bernarda Alba, Ann in Swing!, Myrtle/Annie in the new musical Iron John, Geraldine O’Dare in Irene, in student productions, and in various new works with the Playwrights Horizons Theatre School, the Experimental Theatre Wing, and the Graduate Musical Theatre Writing program at Tisch.
Since graduating, I originated the role of Marcia Tubbert in the world premier production of Becoming Nancy directed by the incredible Jerry Mitchell at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, GA.
Through all of these things I have developed my passion for collaborative/devised work, new works, and revamping classics. Aside from theatre I love knitting, being a mediocre painter, traveling and exploring with friends and family, jazz, and binge watching cooking competition shows.
I'm a proud member of the Actors Equity Association and am Currently represented by McDonald Selznick Associates.
Please check out my NEWS page for updates on my performances and feel free to contact me with any inquiries. Thanks for checking out my website!
